Looking for a reasonable priced and light hardtail for an upcoming race....

I decided, 5 minutes ago, that I'm going to make a go at my new age group in my local fall series. But the firstrace is pretty flat and my 650 Nickel is too much for it.
I was considering buying/building a 29er hardtail but honestly it would be stupid not to just get a frame and swap averything off the nickel for the next couple weeks until the first race.

If someone knows of a good deal on a frame/fork that would be ideal as my Velvet 130mm is not going to be a good fit for pretty much any of the hardtails out there.

Needs a threaded BB, 135mm rear, tapered headtube. I could always just buy a chinese carbon frame for $400 and pick up a decent used fork for $250-300 but I'm open to suggestions.

My Nickel is about 26# now, I could just lock the rear and run the fork open but if I can get a frame and fork that will get me into a 21-22# hardtail that would be better.
Hardrock 29er, Niner EMD9, Cannondale F29, Camber Expert, 650b Nickel all gone.
    2014 Giant Anthem 27.5 here.

    Hong Fu FM136 FTW!

With a Chinese carbon rigid fork I built mine to 18 lbs in 1x10. I now have a Fox Terralogic fork and it weighs 20 lbs.
