    Choose a fork for me

Reposting from a previous post since didn't receive any opinions.

I have two fork options for my 650 conversion for XC hardtail:

    - 2011 Fox RLC FIT w/ kashima coat
    - OR 2012 X fusion ENIX

For those that aren't too familiar with the ENIX, it appears to be similiar if not the same as velvets but with less travel, 1-1/8 steerer and 9mm QR, which meets my hardtail needs.

I can either run the $$$ Fox with with limited tire choices or run the 650B approved entry level ENIX with any tire I want.

    What would you do?

I'd go with the x fusion of the two. There are also some suntours w/remote lock out that can be had cheap$139 ebay. no saddle time with any of these tho. Also White bro's loops out there for decent price around $600 quality fork for sure!

Why not the Velvet? That comes in 1 1/8 steerer with 9mm QR with travel easily adjusted internally down to 100 or 80 mm's.

Fox will limit tire choices in diameter to approx 27.5" before it hits the bottom of the crown at bottom out (or you need a spacer to reduce travel) New taller 650b tires are approaching 28" now and it's nice to be able to use those. If you do get the Fox I recommend having Fox update the internals to 2014 and it's cheap like $60 since that's a FIT RLC already. Supposed to be a big improvement.
