    Affordable alternative to Pivot Switchblade

I'm looking for an afforable alternative to the Pivot Switchblade, that is a XC Trail with about 130mm.

Any advice on that? Especially, something much more affordable.

Hints about models from a couple of years back are also welcome.

    Thanks!

We have no concept of what your idea of "affordable" is.

Give us a range and we can help.

I took him to mean anything 2/3 (or less) the price of a Switchblade. I bet it's tuff to find bikes with those dual links that aren't on the high end of average. Since the 140ish mm 29er is the current fashion favorite, I'd also bet other (more affordable) brands version of that model will come at a premium. I think he's on the right path looking at 2-3yr old bikes. Find a ripper near you and go riding.

Gen1 followings & hightowers can be had for cheap.
Perhaps a Jeffsy or stumpjumper. Smugglers are cheap too.

    Thanks for your answers.
Indeed, I guess, I'll be better off with a 2-3 years old bike that used to sell around $3,000-4,000 than with a brand new one around $2,000-2,500.
    Any model recommendations around this?

By the way, I'm not as technical as some of you guys here. What do you mean by 1st gen followings & hightowers?

    Thanks

Competitive Cyclist is blowing out their Santa Cruz’s at 30% off right now. You can get a 5010 C S Build for around $3200 or an R Build for just over $2500.

If you happen to live close to the PNW, check out PNW classifieds on facebook. Fantastic deals. Otherwise Pinkbike is a big used bike marketplace. You can post bikes here & we'll tell you what we think. For $2500 you can find 5k-7k bikes from 2-3 years ago.
