    650B Lefty

I bet this has been asked a lot, but I want to build a 650b hardtail with a Lefty fork. Do I need a 26er or a 29er fork and why?

They're exactly the same fork, just travel is reduced internally to prevent fork from bottoming out...
You need about 10-20mm more travel than you want from a "26" lefty so that you can reduce it to the correct size. Or, 10-20 less on a "29er" since you will be adding travel... e.g. if you need 120mm, an xlr 130 (labeled for 26) or a xlr 100 29er would be useable, and are equivalent.

And yes, this has been covered. A lot.

i think you can go all the way up to a 28" tire without limiting the travel. come to think of it i should check that. 27 9/16 for sure rode all summer on that

i'm thinking of swapping my lefty speed to a lefty ultra xbr with 120mm travel on my rush 650b.
anyone else have issues with changing the geometry?

I have been running a Lefty MAX 140 on my Prophet with 650b wheels for a couple of years. No reduction in travel, no strikes. I have Neo-Moto 2.3's front and back.

Is the axle to crown different on the speed and ultra xbr? I think the Ultra is longer so the bike would be more slack if you swap.
My name is Chris and I ride a Prophet 650b with a Lefty.

I put a lefty on a Ventana a few years ago. I got it from Project 321, they can help you out.
