    Zipties?

How common is it for people to zip tie top of stanchion as insurance to limit travel/crown contact. I never get full travel on FOX F100 32 but being lazy about pulling lowers off but still want insurance.

Go for it. Just use the smallest one possible and don't over tighten it.

    Re: Zipties?

    Edit -

Sorry, hard to understand exactly what you're asking - is it that you're worried about bottoming a 27.5 tire on the crown of a 26 fork? Zipties doesn't feel like a great way to prevent this, because, as the lowers reach the top of the travel, the top seals could be damaged / crushed / deformed by bottoming out on the zip ties. The top seals are not meant to take downward impacts like that. And, you'd need to stack at least .3-.5 inch of Zip ties to limit the travel enough. Doesn't feel like those zip ties would last very long - couple rock gardens and they'd be gone.

I thought the ziptie was just a reference point to determine how much travel you are using.

I've used them in the past. As you say. I never bottom out anyway.
