    (X-post) Yelli Screamy 650 B?

    Yes. Yes I did.

    What you'll need....

    A Yelli Screamy

    27.5" wheels & tires. Get something burly like Flows or Sun Ringle Chargers. They'll probably still be lighter than your 29er set up.

    Some thin pedals like Crampons or your clipless doo hickies.

    What you'll get...Everything you love about your Yelli with a lower center of gravity.

    Your 29er fork will work just fine as long as its at least 120mm travel. No less. I mean it. If its super rocky where you ride you might wanna go 140mm. 530-550 axle to crown is money. Which, btw, opens you up to some 26" and 27.5" forks in the 150-160mm travel range.

    Enjoy

    BTW ill be selling a couple nice 29er wheelsets soon

    (X-post) Yelli Screamy 650 B?

    Having use to owned a yelli I say too low for my taste at 11.95" unsagged. One of the reasons I eventually sold my yelli. Still it was a hell of a bike.

    12" even. 120mm fork...2.35 Hans Dampf tires

    I was worried it would be too low until I did the ride in the picture. Moraine State Park is one giant glacial rock garden. I broke a Shimano clipless pedal there on my Yeti 575. The rocks there are all gouged from pedal strikes.

    I had no problems with my 650b Yelli, which is why I'm so excited about it. Did I hit my pedals on the rocks? Yes. But no more than any other ride on any other bike. Plus I can still raise my fork another 20mm if I need to, but I don't see that happening.

    Mmmh .... when I read this thread, I converted my Nimble9 (Mk1 with Reba's) with a 650b wheelset (Racing Ralphs 2.25/Alex rims). My 50cts: A rocket pointed down; quite horrible going up.
    I really liked the idea and always enjoy Jeffw-13's posts, but for now I'll stick to my converted Dailled Bikes PA.

    [QUOTE=jeffw-13;10217427]

    Ive done my Yelli with 650B wheels for a couple rides before and liked it but needed the wheels on the other bike. When I broke the other frame I decided to try them again on the Yelli. Being a tall guy getting my c.o.g. closer to the ground really tightens up the handling and makes it feel more stable & balanced, not that it wasnt before. I've only had it out for 3 rides this time but I'm sold and going all in.
