    Wheel set build

I'm thinking of converting an 08 Turner RFX with a Vanilla 36 fork to 27.5 but I'm having trouble making up my mind on rims and spokes. I'd also like to know if I can get away with alloy nipples.

    Spoke short list:
DT Competition 2.0-1.8-2.0 stainless steel butted spokes

    or

    DT Champion 14 Gauge Spokes

    Rim short list:

    Stan's flow

    or

    Velocity blunt 35

For tires I'm planning on Schwalbe Hans Dampf 2.35

Any insight would be appreciated before I drop a huge chunk of change on these wheels.

    Thanks

Competitions because they are butted, unless your pinching pennies.
Flows seem to get better reports than blunts, but i've not had the flows or blunts.
I have had good experiances with Stans rims though. Maybe you should consider the Pacenti DL31 as well..

My wheel builder doesn't stock pancenti so I never looked at them. I had a wheel set built about 10 years ago from universal cycles those wheels have been on three bikes and been abused; still have not needed to true them. I think I'll stick with what they stock I've had them build other wheels for me and the results are similar. I was a little concerned about the DT comps flexing, it might just be the old Mavic 721's I'm using. can you use a caffelatex kit with stans rims? I see the valves are a little different.

Now I just need to wait until Universal gets some navy CK hubs in-stock then Iwill be able to press on.

    I appreciate your help
