    What does 650b mean?

    I know two things about 650b tires: 1. They are larger than 26" 2. They are smaller than 29".

    I can understand the benefits of a tire that is more of a middle ground, that's not my question.
    I'm just wondering exactly how big the rims/tires are when classified 650b. If someone could put it in inches of diameter that would help..

    Newb question I guess.

    Thank you tho

    Rim size is measured in millimeters by the bead seat diameter.

    mtb 26" = 559
    650B = 584
    700C/29" = 622

    Tire diameter differs with width.

    The trouble with common sense is it is no longer common
