    Spark 650b

I had no clue about this. Have I been under a rock, or has this not been circulated? Alloy frame only looks like

    Looks like a Typo.

Also Not a Typo. Scott has decided that their 26" mountainbikes will all be named in the 600's. Thus if there are 6 levels of trim, one becomes the 650. True for the Spark and the Scale. Their 650b/27.5 offerings are all in the 700's, like the Genius 740 seen here. Finally the 29" options are all 900's. Clearly the marketing wizards have all been hired by Scott.

So the 650b Sparks they were riding at Cape Epic would be listed as a 700 series model.

correct. for example, It appears that the Scale frame that Nino Schurter won the World Cup and Silver medal on last year can now be purchased. Info can be found here: Scott Sports

I would imagine that we would be waiting a season before the Sparks would be available, and if in keeping with the Scale, perhaps as frame only.
