SC Nickel 650b Conversion MUD RIDE!

First off, this bike is hands down the VERY BEST mountain bike I have ever thrown my leg over. She just rips! I actually felt that way when she was a 26" bike. The conversion has turned a great bike into a spectacular bike. Took her for a mud ride today. Here are some before and after pics. The dirt here has a lot of clay in it. It is gummy and sticks to everything. Even 26" with tons of clearance get packed. I really didn't noticed a difference on the 27.5" wheels. The fork brace MIGHT have packed a little faster.... But I am certain that it would have happened regardless. I only have about 4 rides in on the 27.5" wheels. Cant wait until it drys a bit and I can really test her out. To sum it up: I AM SOLD! I agree, the 650b Nickel is a great bike. Swap that Nevegal in the rear for a Nibby Nic and watch how much faster the bike gets. I did the same and was amazed at slow the Nevegal was in the rear, it was like pulling a boat anchor. It is a great front tire though.

Yeah, I purchased the packaged wheelset with tubes and tires from six fifty.com. Which now have several good rides on them and are still running perfectly true and rolling better with each ride. Overall a smoking deal on an excellent product. Kudos to them! The Nevs are 2.35. They handle great even in the hard pack conditions of Southern California. I am looking forward to experimenting with other tires though. The bike is awesome! I really wanted a DW link floating pivot but I see absolutely no reason to trade this steed in for one.

can't see the photo but are you running a 650b fork or just a 26er fork?

    It's a 26er fork.
