    MAVIC 27.5" (650B) Rim Offerings (2014)???

Does anyone with any info regarding Mavics 650B rim models for 2014 please chime in. I've written to MAVIC inquiring 2 times in the past 6 weeks with no reply. I have zero interest in their 650b crossmax wheels and am referring to rims only.

I am looking for 36H wide profile rims with welded joints for hard AM/enduro usage. I have Pacenti DL31s and Velocity Blunts already but am about to build a new wheelset for another bike.

JeffLenosky perhaps you can help ..... My searches only revealed 2 current Mavic offerings online for 2014:

Mavic EN 321 Disc Rim 2014
    650b (27.5")
    New Item
    From: $49.95

Mavic XM 319 Disc Rim 2014
    650b (27.5")
    New Item
    From: $49.95

I'm not sure what is happening with Mavic. They dropped their long time distributor here in Canada and are going to distribute directly. One would think that they would set up their distribution network before they killed off the one in place but they didn't. If you want Mavic in Canada don't bother going to your LBS, they most likely won't have access to it.

Cromagftw you are correct, as far as individual rims that's what's available at this point. The EN 321 has a 21mm internal width and 28mm outside so it's similar to a Crossmax SX and DeeMax profile and definitely capable of handling some big tires for AM riding.
Saddle Up, Mavic did decide to go dealer direct in Canada and the good news is they're up and running with their own sales and service center located in Toronto. Any LBS can apply now to become a dealer but there's currently 100 shops open and 30 more in progress. The shop finder on the Mavic site is currently being updated but if you need help in the meantime I could probably find out where your nearest dealer is based on where you live. By Mavic going dealer direct in Canada shops and consumers will have access to the entire range of products instead of only certain products the distributor decides to carry. Hope that info helps guys!

Jeff, are there any plans for 650b 819 or 821 rims?

    Hey Wheatgerm,
I would say that considering how fast 650b is catching on I'm sure there will be some 800 level rims in the future. Mavic likes to be thorough in their testing and is conservative with product introductions so that's probably the only reason it was left out of their first 650b offerings.
