New question here. looking for a 650b carbon frame, options?

so, other than a chinese ebay purchase (which I am still researching and have read the thread on several times), or an On-One Whippet that will convert to 650b easily (on which I'm still waiting for a 20" to be in stock), what other options do I have?

Would consider a Giant XTC or Norco Revolver, but they don't sell frames only. Orbea doesn't offer the Alma in 650b on a size L/19".

Looking for the following build options:
1x10/11 set up, most likely with race face next & external bb
32 or 34 tooth ring clearance
cheap (lol, if possible hence the chinese ebay option).

Well, xtc isn't available as a frame set in Canada (at least according to my local giant shop, but maybe just asked too early and is now. But still not on Canadian site). And at 1800$ I'd just as soon look at a Santa Cruz.

If you're looking for a frame for XC, get the Giant Anthem Advanced 27.5 0 Team Frame. It's very light and perfect for racing!

So the Nemesis frame option is only for their highest end version of the carbon frame at $1700, tho it is setup when you buy the bike outright to run 1x11 so its expected. PF30 Bottom Bracket

My vote is for the whippet. I have one and it is fantastic as a 650b hardtail. I run a x fusion velvet on it, it may be your only fork option as it uses a straight 1 1/8" steerer. Not a bad thing; it is an awesome fork for the price (I like it better than a fox fork) . I'd say go that route and use the money you saved over a more expensive frame/fork to really bling out the build- xx1, the new next sl crank (there is a bb92 bottom bracket option available), get the next carbon handlebar to match, formula r1 racing brakes, lynskey ti seatpost, and some I9 ultralite wheels. You'll end up with a sub 20lb rocket sled!

Seriously. For a smack over 300.00 you can get a Chinese frame. Mine built up awesome and rides amazing. I have hundreds of miles with no problems. Mine is similar to the scott and goes like a rocket. I have. A modest build and it weighes 21 lbs. save alot of cash and try one.

I have this one. Fr 503. Can be had in gloss or matt,135mm or 142.

is the 32t chainring the biggest that will have clearance, or would i be able to put a 34t?

34t should fit no problem. I built one up with a 32t but there is plenty of clearance.

You should add the Foundry Tomahawk to the list of bikes to look at. Guys here on MTBR seem to like them..
