    Kona Stinky Deluxe 650b

After weeks of gathering info on tires, measuring the rear yokes for clearance, finding a
wide rim for such the beast the Stinky is, trying to find wheels in-stock (ugh that was a drag)
getting my LBS to string the spokes up, here is the first that I know of, a 2010 Kona Stinky Deluxe 650b is unveiled!

The rear clearance after my calculations saw 1/4", wrong! It turned out to be 1/8". But it clears its so thats cool. My LBS guy told me it will never clear. I say after using my tape measure over 10 times, calculation of rim height and tire height, numbers don't lie.

    Specs:
--Kenda Never rolls 2.35 (thats the max for the rear), front---anything goes
--P35 rims with front Sram X9 20m thru axle hub and rear Azonic Recoil thru 12m axle hub
--White Bros dual crown fork, measures 8" of travel with the 650b wheel
    --BB height is 14.5"

Only took it for a 10 mile street ride up and down hills. Was too damn hot for a dirt ride today. But the ride was as expected with such an upgrade.

---feels like you're cheating when climbing anything (I say climbs better than a 26er and
climbs better than a 29er---I have both kind of bikes)
---feels and is faster on the straights (like a 29er)
---faster on the downhills (like a 29er)

This is my second 650b conversion and I am hooked. Once going 650b you cannot
go back to 26 IMO. Also when climbing, you can fool your mind that you are climbing faster and you probably are on a 29er, but your legs and back will tell you later that
it wasn't fun. On a 650b, it just feels nicer on the climbs. You can go at a good cadence
and really not get fatigued on long climbs like I was on my 26 and 29er. I truly believe the 650b was meant for all types of off road cycling.

Thanks. Took it for a ride yesterday (12mi fireroad) and took on a 35 degree slope
and it did well for a 46lb bike. What I expected was two things:

    1) on the straights and DH, it rolls faster than a 26. Climbing is 10% easier than a 26/29
Steering is much easier than a 29er, and less twitchier than a 26er
    2) rocks, pebbles already marred up the yoke area between the tire. not pretty. soon enough there won't be any paint in that area

Get out the Heli tape before you fine a shiny new hole where the bridge used to be!

Anti-scratch tape. Stick it to the bridge so the stones don't keep hammering it.

Have you had any problems with the tight clearance so far?
