Rumor has it, that is why the release date of the HR 2s was pushed back.

You mean Santa Cruz bought the entire first production run?

    Just speculating...
Release date gets pushed back, every Bronson I've seen has them. I don't know how many tires Maxxis would run, nor what volumes SC expects to sell Bronsons.
Clearly, a bunch got made and they aren't readily available for public consumption.

I'd only heard of the 2.4 HR II in the 27.5 size, but fwiw someone posted that the Bronson might be shipping w/ a 2.3 HR II. anyone know the real story?

They were probably shooting for a 2.4 and like all Maxxis tires they didn't measure up, so they decided to relabel it 2.3

Last time I check, the LBS computer said the HR 27.5 wouldn't be available from a major distributor until late June.

Personally I think WTB should do a 650B version of their existing Bronson 2.3 model, which is afterall part of their All Mountain tire series and would be perfectly suited to running on these bikes.

I just saw "coming soon" for the HR2, wondering size on that 2.4 X-King too
