fox 34 vs new pike -- actual weight?

I'm accustomed to mfger's lying about product weights, but I was surprised to see my fox 34 talas CTD came in at 4.8 lbs (2178 g)...a lot more than 4.4 lbs claimed. I haven't yet cut the steerer however.

anyone compared the actual weights for the new pike vs the 34? haven't had time to search around for actual weights.

Ok, switching from the 34 160 CTD 650b fork to the Pike Solo Air and yea I am excited to lose a little weight from my currently 31.5lb Banshee Rune but more so I am excited to have a fork that works. I am tired of the arm pump I get trying to hang on with the CTD fork. I have long been a Fox guy and love the CTD shock, hate the fork! Fox is 4.35lbs...

Hi socal! Have you already tested the Pike? How does it feel compared to the Talas 34?

That's a damn beauty fork man!

My Fox was a Float, not Talas. And the Pike is Solo Air. I will be riding it for the first time this weeked. The break in ride will be at Big Bear bike park!

im in the process of a 650b build and also ordered a 34 talas 150mm....it too came in at 4.8lbs. thats pretty disappointing....i think im going to send it back and go for a dual air pike...unfortunatly havent found any reviews or actual weight on the dual air.

You mean a dual position air Pike? AFAIK, the Pike only comes in Solo Air or Dual Position Air.
Better to have and not need it, than to need it and not have it.
