Smile Confirmed 650b Scott RC for 2013

Went down to my local Scott dealer today and asked what they knew about the 650b Scott
product of 2013. He had not heard of anything but he went to the dealer only Scott site and
found that for 2013 Product a 650b model called the RC will be out. Hope Schwalbe comes
out with a new tyre for the bike, maybe a rocket ron or a nobby nic.

RC would be a trim level, not a model designation. IE Scale RC or Spark RC etc.

RC is a pretty nice trim level isn't it, which tells us they're not playing around!

    RC = "Race Concept"

    Spark RC - SCOTT Sports

    I know what it means...

Scale 29 RC - SCOTT Sports

Simply calling it RC doesn't mean it will be a Spark as the there is also the Scale RC...

    Which was my point...

Gotcha. I didn't know what it meant.

Personally, if it's going to be RC, I would hope for a Spark over a Scale. Do we really need more 650b hardtails - even if the Scott will be carbon? A svelte Spark would be more interesting

Though what would be the best for most 650b riders would be a Genius, IMO. 6" of travel, light frame mmmmmm.....

agreed, 650b Genius LT? I would replace my converted Marin in a heartbeat. The Scott sparks already fit 650b with a leaner tire (like the quasi), so not too big a challenge with that platform, just some adjustments to the BB height and swingarm travel. I'd bet we see a Scale first though, or possibly both at the RC level.

Being that the spark just got revised, my money is on a Genius 650b as that's the only scott mtb not running a taper steerer.

    imo

That with a 34mm Fox Talas.... sweet!

    Is it 2013 yet?

Nope... I've not heard anything about it. Just wishful thinking on my part. I have always liked the Genius. I am a fan of pull-shock designs. If a 650b wheel had fit the 26" version, I would have bought one years ago.

I ran into a Scott rep today. He said that the 650b line with be hard tails and full suspension.
They will be out next year. We will have to wait till interbike to see them I guess.

What do you like about pull designs?

I am thinking I might learn something here.
