Building a front wheel 650b for Dakar XAM2

    Just doing the front wheel

    Wheel
Stan's No Tube ZTR Flow 650b Rim w/Valve Stem - Cycling Closeouts
    Hub
    Syncros Fr Frt 20Mm T-A 6-Bolt 32H Blk
    Tire
    Kenda Nevegal 650b 2.35 Non-folding w/tube - Cycling Closeouts

    It's gonna go on this

What do you guys thing of the wheel/hub/tire combo I'm looking at? I still need a 8inch rotor and spokes?

Do you want someone to tell you "Yes, that sounds great!" so you can have someone to blame when you taco it on a drop?

But in all seriousness, that sounds fine. And as with all things, post pictures of it on the internet.

No, I don't want someone to just tell me that sounds great. I did some searching around if anyone has done this one this certain bike first and didn't find anything, so I'm asking if this is the right combo since I've never built my own bike or this 650 mod. Sucks buying things online and having to return.

Well, the fork will fit the Kenda. I've seen threads of XAMs being 650'd with no ill repercussions (front AND back), and the Flow has been shown to be a good heavy duty rim. Add a beefy Syncros hub and you'll be all set.

Go for it and do the combo proud.

Is that syncros hub good? and don't I need to buy spokes too? or does that usually come with the wheels. I seen any of these sites offering spokes for the 650wheel

If you are planning on building this wheel yourself you need to get spokes. There is no such thing as a 650b spoke. Spokes come in various lengths based on the diameter of the rim and the hub flange. There are several spoke calculators online that can determine the length you need such as this one:
