    Brand new bike: Jamis Nemesis

So after my snapped SC Blur frame, my shop hooked me up with a Jamis Nemesis 2013. It weighed 28 pounds

I've got it down to 22.5 pounds.

Preemptive riding has been great so far. Loving it. Can't wait to put plenty of trail miles on it.

If anyone's looking for parts, I just stumbled across plenty.

That's a nice little diet you put it on, nice rig! My Ala Carte shows up today and I'm stoked to build it up over the course of the week as parts come in. I'd love to hear more about how you feel about the difference in ride feel coming from the Blur as I am coing from the same bike. Well done again!

Thanks man, I'll be sure to let you know how it goes. Sadly I can't ride it until tomorrow.

I was happy with the weight, but I expected it to be about 22.5 based on what I was doing to it. The parts are as follows.

    XT Rear Derailleur, cassette, shifter.
    Ice Tech rotors
American Classic 130 hubs on Stans Crest w/ DT Swiss Champion spokes.
E-Thirteen XCX crankset with BB, 32 tooth Race Face single ring and MRP chain guide
    Answer and FSA Handlebar/Seatpost
WTB Rocket-V Ti, with about 4,000 miles on it.
Racing Ralph up front, Crossmark in the rear.

Great looking bike. I have been riding my Jamis Dakar full squish for the last year and it's the best riding bike I have ever owned.

I will be riding Jamis bikes from here on out.

22.5 is plenty light. Very nice bike!

Well, had my first trail ride on the bike. Without realizing it, I was pushing hard on the first 5 mile loop. So much so that, even though I only started pushing after a mile or so, I was only 9 seconds behind my best time (as per strava).

And that's after having to stop and wait for a horseback rider to pass.

That being said, the bike handled flawlessly. I've got it slightly more relaxed than my Blur, but I couldn't tell any negative handling characteristics. In fact, it felt much snappier and quicker. This is partly due to the shorter wheelbase and lower BB, which I've come to appreciate.

Mechanically, everything was rock-solid. The ride felt very comfortable, much more forgiving than I had expected. The 2.1 Maxxis at 24 psi helped with that, as did the length of seatpost exposed.

Jamis really did a lot of things right with this bike. And from what I've seen, the 2014 carbon model is going to be a ripper. They've already got their XC guys winning races on it.
