    650b wheelset

    Looking for the best 'bang for buck' on a light, wide, tubeless AM wheelset... my budget is around $500.
    its for a mojo hd.
    so far my to options are wtb frequency i23 laced to hope hubs for around $500 from CRC or these arches laced to hopes for around $430;

    (Cheap) Chinese Carbon Rims?

    NM, it's 167 pages, and in the 29er forum. I'm not your ***** but a protip is use brass nipples. Novatec hubs are fine unless you're a priss about POE, in which case just upgrade them, L-B offers a couple hub options.

    If you want US-based wheels w/ more legit warranties you're going to get heavier and more expensive wheels.

    Not sure what kind of axles you need, but check these out... I run them on my Blur LT and while they're not "light", they're not super heavy either. I've ridden some pretty burly stuff with them without an issue, and have them set up ghetto tubeless.

    I just purchased a set of Sun Ringle Charger Experts (new take offs from Pinkbike buy-sell) I think I paid $400 for them.

    They are straight pull hubs

    I didn't take a look at sizing, but I purchased the Process 153 DL, and I am swapping out the wheel set for a different set. The rear is a 12x142 Shimano XT Hub laced with a WTB Frequency Team i25 TCS rim, and the front is a 15mm QR XT hub with a WTB Frequency Team i25 TCS.

    FULCRUM Wheels - Products: Red Power XL 650B

    I thought I'd throw this up there as I love my Fulcrums (26"). Two issues: 1) I can't find a price, and 2) I don't know if they are even available. When I talked to Fulcrum over the winter I thought they would be on the market by March. It'll give me an excuse to call.

    kinda between an arch wheelset w/hope hubs as i can get it shipped from the uk for around $450.....but the light-bicycle option is appealing too.

    I wouldn't get the Arch EX rims for all mountain riding, you should get Flow EX rims laced to Hope hubs. They are bombproof, not too heavy, and due to their popularity they are known to be reliable.

    Too bad Wiggle doesn't sell the 27.5 wheels with the Hope Hubs combo. I have a set of 26" wheels and you can't beat them for the price. I emailed Wiggle and they were pretty short with me. It doesn't sound like they will be getting them in any time soon.

    The wife is getting the Light-Bicycle wheels for her Mojo HDR 650B. I have a set on my Mojo HD and am pleased with the performance.

    Have your local shop build you a set. Get the best rims you can, butted spokes, and whatever hub works within your budget.
    Each bicycle owned exponentially increases the probability that none is working correctly.

    Pacenti has their rims laced to Hope hubs for $700. I have built a few wheelsets for customers and they are the first rim I recommend to customers.
