My very first 650b attempt was with an R7. It buzzed the crown a lot in any kind of hard riding and the side knobs would rub the arch on hard cornering. It doesn't make for a very good 650b fork in my opinion.

    Nice
But that's an awfully tight fit on the seatstay bridge. There's no way a Neo 2.3 (or Nev 2.35) would fit. But then again we generally mount smaller, faster rolling tires on the rear.
    Good job
Better to have and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

Carver Killer B. Swapped everything off of my Soul Hooligan on to this.

At 6'-5" a 29er is probably what most people would insist I should ride, but I really dig 650b. This bike is more fun than any of the handful of 29ers I have spent time on.

    Another Ohio 650B experiment:

First time I took this bike off road with the RaRas. At night. With a weakish headlight. Anyway, it was interesting. I can't say much about the 650B-ness of it. The low trail, rando geometry had a much bigger impact. While everyone else is slacking out their bikes, this has a 73* head angle, some 65mm of fork rake, for a trail number in the low 40s, IIRC. Pay attention, it goes wherever you point it. That is A-OK on the road, but not particularly relaxing off road.

I asked a few questions during the build, but failed to post pic's of the finished product. Full "Wifey Bike" build thread here.

I'm sold on the wheel size, and I've only been able to ride it a little bit.

@ G-reg That is some very nice work, you have some skills my friend. I'm sure your wife appreciates the fact that you fabricated that for her more than if you would have purchased a 10k carbon ride.

Thanks, it turned out to be a nice ride. Frame #6 (only on #4) is looking to be a 27.5 XC race bike.

Nice bike, G-reg. That's one of my favorite colors.... I used to have a '72 Dodge Dart Swinger that was the same shade of blue with a white top.
I'm wondering if her wrists would be happier with the levers angled up a bit.
To ride this trail is completely free.

so sad we missed it this year; husband came down with a terrible cold on Tuesday prior to race weekend, so it didn't happen. Yes, I recognized both the spot and the Tomac "I can't believe I'm going this fast" expression on the racer's face!

    Mojo HD 160

I think I have a midlife crisis problem.... anyway, here is my "new" Yello Mello.

It is a 160mm Mojo HD w/ 115-160mm Lyrik U-turn a.k.a. The Nosediver a.k.a. The Boat anchor, Avalanche DHX 5 coiler (1/16" shim), 32x11-34 9sp drivetrain and MRP G2 SL chainguide. I am expecting wider 28" bars to appear on Monday, that is the final TBD for now. (and I have to do something about that out of control dropper line)
