    27.5/650b bike for Leadville?

Anybody race Leadville this past weekend on a 27.5/650b bike? I assume the vast majority of riders were on 29er hardtails. I am just curious to hear if anyone raced on 27.5/650b wheels, and if it was an advantage/disadvantage compared to the bigger wheels on that course, which seems to be all fire roads.

I'm sure there are others more knowledgeable, but I do believe 26" bikes were ridden to wins from at least 2003 to 2009 with the 09 win being a FS bike. This years winner was a 29 FS.

My first thought would be if 26" bikes can be ridden to a win, a 27.5/650b would be just as capable on the course, (BIG 'but' here) but you really have to take the rider into consideration.

The Leadville race is so fitness oriented, I doubt wheel size really matters that much.
