2014 Scott Spark 700 SL review

Initial review of the 2014 Scott Spark 700 SL

Scott Spark 700 SL | Off the Couch Adventure

10 second summary- Expensive, super light, climbs like a goat, descends like a demon. Pretty rad bike. Will have to sell a few souls to afford one... be on the lookout for my classified postings!

I've been looking at the Spark 700 series and they look awesome. 120mm travel, fun looking geo...seems like the bike for me!

I wish this bike very much...
Today i ride Spesh Epic 29 Sworks 2012 ( my own bike).
I think Spark 700 will be very very nice to ride.
So, when and where this bike will be avaliable ( in USA)?
700 SL is great color and rims.... but I,m not sure about 1x11...
700 Premium with XTR will be a very good option.( but the stealth look of the SL is simple gorgeous !!!!)

I liked it a lot. Its plushy and very fast. Things I don't like. First, it comes without adjustable seat post. So I have already switched my RockShox Reverb from my hardtail. The other thing is a combination of 700mm 9 degree Syncros FL1.5 handlebar and stem. It doesnt feel comfortable. May be I'm used to riserbars. Any advise on that? I have shortlisted 711 mm Easton Heaven.

Remember this is an XC FS which aren't typically spec'd with dropper posts.

Also XC bikes tend to have a more aggressive riding position, do the bars feel too low or too far ahead? If the stem stem is angled down you could try flipping it to raise the bars, that was the nice thing about my Scale since they used a 6 degree stem.

Some updates. I measured the handlebar and its 720mm instead of 700. I changed position of the bar and now it feels very good and Im getting used to it. Head tube angle is 68 degrees. I also put RS reverb.
The bike feels slacker: it is more like an AM bike than purely XC.
