    2011 Cannondale RZ120 - Bent Rear Triangle

I have a 2011 Cannondale RZ120 that i have ridden religiously since i bought it brand new, but i recently bent the bottom rail on the rear triangle. Does anyone have a replacement or know anyone that does? i know i need to upgrade but i dont wont this bike to go to waste. Also, anyone have experience on bending aluminum?

The same thing happened to me last year. I did saved searches on eBay and checked Pinkbike frequently and ended up buying the same model bike for the swingarm. It was a woman's model size medium but the swingarm is the same size. That's the good thing about swingarms on Rize models. I think they're all interchangeable. Check with Cannondale to make sure, though, for your year. Mine is a 2010.

I also broke mine and I am currently searching Ebay for a good used frame but I am wondering if it is worth it. I also submitted a warranty claim through Cannondale but that is not going well so in the meantime I am researching new bikes.

eBay has a refurbished RZ frame with rear shock right now for $388 (free shipping). Seems that would be an easy way to get back up and running. A friend had to replace his swingarm on a GT carbon frame earlier this year and it set him back $800.

If you search "Refurbished frame rz120" on eBay you'll see the frame I'm talking about.

Yeah that should get the OP back up and running. I had actually seen that frame last week but it was the wrong size for me. However I am still on the fence about even getting another RZ120 frame. I have broken two of these frames in six years and before that I had a Rize 4 whose triangle cracked. That is why I am researching new bikes but the prices for a decent build are eye watering! So I might just end up getting a used 27.5 frame from a different manufacturer and just build another bike.

Where did the frames break on the two in the last 6 years? Swingarm?

I figure it's just a matter of time for me because I am on the tall side and weigh over 200lbs. Lots of fatgue in the frame going on, I'm sure. I'm not sure what I'll do when/if it breaks again.

I hear you on the prices. Ridiculous. And with high-end bikes you're usually out more than a few bucks every time something brakes.

The seat tube broke right about 1.5 inches above the bottom bracket weld for both of them. What really gets me is that I do not jump or anything like that but I still manage to break these frames. I weigh about 195lbs geared up and these frames should be able to take that weight without issues. Cannondale on this latest warranty claim is telling me that I did not maintain the frame properly. LoL

Thanks for letting me know where your Rize frames cracked. I wouldn't have expected it to be in that area. I'll keep a heads up for this on my bike.

I agree. These frames should last way longer than they actually do. Especially if it's they're used for drops, jumps, etc.

Found a dealer in Pennsylvania that has a stock of Cannondale Rize parts. just ordered a replacement chain stay for 125$ with shipping. The dealer is called Fat Jimmy's Outfitters. See the link below.

Thanks Jordan! I will check them out since Cannondale is most probably not going to get me another frame.
