~559 illuminati, the new wheel order~

I'm trying to start some kind of secret order/club here.

The thread is devoted to people who want to join the new secret order.

    The 559 Illuminati.

Its destined to dominate the entire bike world.

559I is here to promote the use of: for example old/forgotten/deemed obsolete wheelsizes such as the allmighty 559mm!

    First rule of 559I :
you do not talk about 559I
Second rule of 559I : you do not talk about 559I

Now we need a coat of arms! No secret order can exist without a coat of arms.
    Who can design this?

Also, do we need some kind of ritual for new members? I'm thinking; maybe burning a 29er at the stake!

I believe we need some kind of supreme leader and we need to deciede what that leader is supposed to be called.
    The wheelführer maybe??

    So whos in?

    car bone's in!
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.

Testing has consistently shown that 559 accelerates faster, is lighter and stiffer, maneuvers quicker, and pumps the terrain better than other wheel sizes. If only the industry would embrace this new wonder size. All that's needed is a little marketing/branding magic.

    This is true.

Some people seem to think that 29er's are better for technical riding because of slightly better rollover. This is false.

The truth is that all the factors above are better for technical riding, moreso than a slight improvement in rollover. Not to mention you can build a lighter / stiffer bike with more suspension travel using a 26" wheel.

Yep, as soon as there is a new axle standard, 26 will return to dominance. first they need to force all the old 26 wheels out of existance so they can contnue selling product.

we need someone to actually design the stickers. I for one like pyramids, the all seing eye, ku klux klan type clothing figure profiles and the numbers 6, 6, and 6. maybe someone could cobble some logo together?

I would legitimately buy a 559 sticker that was just those numbers inside the black oval like you see for a marathon, or what-have-you.
Like the perfect inside joke, so few people would get it, but those that do would appreciate it.

Years ago a motorcycle forum I frequented (ADVRider.com) had a running joke 'Catchphrase' that was F#$k you, You F@#king F#@ker....They had stickers made that said "FYYFF". Very few got it, but if you knew, you also knew that the other guy was a fellow forum member.

I had a Niner MCR, but I parted it out and sold off all of the 29'er-specific parts a couple years ago. Does that count?

If you had a 29er, no amount of 559 hazing will compare to the suffering you've already experienced.

I kid. Let's not get anyone's panties in a twist.

    I still want a 559 sticker, though!

I know a dude who does stuff like this in 3M vinyl.

How many you guys want and in what color(s) and who volunteers to be the central point of contact ?

DLIX or 559 in an oval is do-able too....just sayin.

Conscendimus pyramid, roman numerals DLIX or 559 in an oval ?

I talked to "stickers" yesterday and he has some Black and White 3M Vinyl remnants which lowers costs considerably. All he needs to know is what color what size and how many.

If I want tubeless tires and rim brakes which if any rim still exists for me?

The Powerful Use Esoteric Knowledge While Keeping it from Humanity: Empower Yourself by Awakening Consciousness

There are forces that drag down rim brake knowledge, whether they are in the world or within a person.

Disc opposes rim, but at the same time it gives form to the wheel, and it’s in this form that we both exist and learn. However when disc is greater than rim, less is seen and the opportunity for that which favors rim brakes can be diminished. Truth is of light and when it shines on the darkness of lies it exposes it. Whoever wants rim brakes for themselves and in the world should actively seek it. It’s the same for truth in the world.

I did shop around first. The same current model in 27.5 would have cost literally 10 times as much.

Its 90% as good. For 10 times less. Thats awesome.

History repeats it self over and over and over again.
They pretend to be your friend. They say they can help with the art work. Shortly they will say they can provide better security.
The all seeing eye is on the coins and paper notes throughout the Americas and beyond. It is always the same. The J shows up on your steps with a lie, a promise to help.

Are there any wide tires that are not dh?
    Is it possible to get 2.5 .6 .7 .8 under 900 grams?
I do not want a 1,200 gram tire for down hill, no.
I do want a wide cross country tire on the front.
2..5 is not quite enough when the trail turns into a sandy river bed.
What are the non mega gram options?

I would be honored to join this society and promote the ways of the DLIX.

I have to ask if it is acceptable to have a road bike and a cyclocross bike even though they are 29ers?

Even though this thread is old, the 26" wheel is about to be dead if we don't fight back. Gotta buy high end 26" tires instead do cheapies or else we'll all be out of luck! Let's get some stickers made!

I feel that 559 as the one true fat rim diameter is under threat from the slimmer 27.5+ and 29+ models which I consider merely "chubby", not truly fat.

What is the story on ¨chubby¨ 26 inch tires? I Would like to have a 2.8 that is really 2.6 if you measure it. Or, maybe a 3 inch tire. No fat 4 or 5 inch tire for me. No down hill tire, no. A nice wide tire that weighs less than 1,000 grams. Is there a 3 inch tire fit for back country travel?

Find some nice wide 26" rims and throw some 2.4-2.5 rubber on, and we'll forgive you.

I am going to get a little trimmer this summer, take a shower, and try to get a much better picture of me with that bike.... The front range has some great trails.

    yes there is!

if you are deemed worthy someone from the 559 illuminati will kidnap you and you will know.

You will also have to prove that you are 559i material. usually you have to assassinate someone "important", but it could also be a straight up street murder of someone unwanted.

then you get your certified member card. well after a few iris scans and palmprints that is.

So, you ritualistically sacrificed and partitioned a "29er" then scattered the remains to all points of the compass?

Yeah, dude. I think you qualify.

26+ tire choices thread says Maxxis is secretly developing a 26 plus tire, but you need a password to order it. I understand the ~559 illuminati, will get the first chance at them.

google the phrase, secretly developing a, then decide where you want to excape too on your 559 plus machine
